This article will help you learn how to install and configure VPN L2TP/IPsec Connection on MacOS.
To configure PN L2TP/IPsec Connection on your MacOS device, follow the steps:
- Open System Settings....
- Go to the Network section.
- To add a new VPN connection, go to the Other Services field.
- Click Add VPN Configuration > L2TP over IPSec….
- In the opened window, enter the VPN connection parameters :
- Interface – VPN.
- Connection Type – L2TP.
- Display Name – any of your choice, for example, "BIGBANG VPN".
- Server address – the IP address of the VPN server.
- Account name – PPTP/L2TP username from the message that you received by email when the service is activated.
- Password – PPTP/L2TP password.
- Shared Secret – ipsec shared PSK.
- Click Create.
- Enter the VPN connection parameters from the message that you received by email when the service is activated:
- You can also find PPTP/L2TP access information in your client area.
- In your client area, find the VPN Servers tab.
- Click Manage.
- In the Access section, find the PPTP/L2TP settings.
- Download access information there.
- VPN connection successfully configured.
- To connect, slide the switch to the right.
- If the connection is successful, the Connected status appears and you can track VPN usage statistics.
- To see the connection status with the VPN server in the macOS top menu, check the Show VPN status in menu bar box.
